When you pull into our driveway at 925 Line 2 Road, you are stepping onto a piece of history that began long before our doors officially opened. At Bella Terra Vineyards, located in the heart of the prestigious Four Mile Creek sub-appellation, we invite you to experience why our estate is a must-visit destination in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Our story is one of heritage and "Bella Terra" (beautiful land). In 1965, Giuseppe Puglisi emigrated from Sicily to Canada, bringing with him a lifelong passion for grape growing. By 1974, the Puglisi family established the very 50-acre farm where our winery stands today. Our proprietor, Luciano (Lou) Puglisi, grew up in these vineyards. His dedication to the soil earned him the prestigious title of Grape King in 2008, an honour reserved for the finest vineyard operators in Ontario. When you sip a glass of our Bella Terra Chardonnay or a bold Cabernet Franc, you are tasting over 50 years of viticultural expertise handed down through three generations.
We believe that every bottle of wine tells the story of the land it came from and the memories you've made here with us. To best share that story with you, we offer curated experiences designed for every level of wine lover:
- The Bella Terra Tasting: For $25 per person, enjoy a guided flight of four wines of your choice. Our wine ambassadors will walk you through the nuances of our oldest vines and the unique characteristics of the Niagara wine region.
- The Premium Terroir Experience: At just $50 per person, this wine tasting journey is designed for those who want to delve deeper. You will sample six of our finest wines paired with curated culinary bites designed to highlight the harmony between food and our unique terroir.
- Patio Service: If you prefer a relaxed afternoon sitting amongst the vines, join us on our covered patio for wine by the glass and a fresh charcuterie board.
Our location is what makes our wines truly exceptional. Nestled between the Niagara Escarpment and Lake Ontario, the Four Mile Creek area provides a warm microclimate and rich, ancient soils. This allows us to produce complex, barrel-aged reds and crisp, aromatic whites that consistently win national and international awards.
Whether you are here for the world-class Icewine, our fan-favourite Calm the Franc Down, or a walk through our scenic vineyards, we want you to feel like part of the Bella Terra family.
