2023 Chardonnay Sur Lie

Tasting Notes: This unoaked Chardonnay shows off the concentration and intensity characteristic of the 2023 vintage. The wine, fermented and aged exclusively in stainless steel, uses the ‘lees’ or spent yeast from the winemaking process, to add texture and flavour.

The nose is quite generous with lemon custard, ripe peach, and honey pouring out of the glass. The palate showcases more opulent ripe fruit, with yellow apple and apricot notes taking center stage. There is a hint of brioche and pastry, which is a reminder of the the lees aging process.

Food Pairing Suggestions: A great pairing for this wine would be grilled chicken with a peach summer salad and seafood based appetizers or main courses.
