2023 Merlot

Tasting Notes: 

Only the second-ever vintage of this 100% estate-grown Merlot presents a deep garnet colour, a clear indication of its richness, concentration, and vibrancy.

The nose reveals prominent and expressive notes of ripe plums, sour cherry, and red currants, offering an approachable, youthful profile with a lively tanginess.

Aged for 18 months in predominantly neutral French oak barrels to preserve a true reflection of our terroir, with just 10% new oak, the élevage helps build structure while adding a subtle, beautifully integrated leather note. This wine was bottled unfiltered to provide an additional layer of texture and richness, while preserving its authentic character and sense of place.

As the wine meets the palate, it unfolds as a well-structured and fresh expression, supported by flavours of blueberry, bright red fruit, and hints of anise. This Merlot boasts polished, finely grained tannins that lend a smooth and refined texture to the wine. These tannins provide a supportive structure without overwhelming the palate, enhancing the overall drinking experience. The wine also exhibits a well-balanced acidity that brings energy and liveliness, harmonizing seamlessly with the fruit-driven flavours and contributing to the wine’s poise, length, and overall balance.
